Program Director

Kate Denny, Community Health Aide Program Director, Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board (NPAIHB).

I have 18 years of experience working within healthcare organizations as a medical coder and biller, and billing manager. I spent five years working within a Tribal Health Organization (THO) as the Purchased / Referred Care Manager and Revenue Cycle Specialist. My expertise includes revenue generation from health care services provided within THO’s, provider credentialing, health claims data, Coordination of Benefits (COB) Medicaid consultation, and implementation of State Plan Amendments. I’m passionate about addressing the unique healthcare needs of Tribal Communities and fostering collaborative partnerships to promote health equity and wellness as a member of the NW CHAP team! Supporting healthcare sovereignty of Tribes is a top priority for me in my role as Community Health Aide Program Director.

My husband and four children are all enrolled members of the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes. I’ve been a member of the Ft. Hall community since 2002, and I enjoy spending my time with my family as they traditionally hunt big game and salmon, as well as hiking, skiing, camping, and rafting the beautiful rivers of Idaho.  My goal as a member of the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board NW CHAP team is to “eliminate health disparities and improve the quality of life of American Indians and Alaska Natives by supporting Northwest Tribes in their delivery of culturally appropriate, high-quality health programs and services.”
