GLP-1 Therapies and the Syndemic in Indian Country: Clinical Outcomes, Emerging Applications, and Access | October 27, 2026

We invite you to join Indian Country ECHO for a General Session on GLP-1 Therapies and the Syndemic in Indian Country: Clinical Outcomes, Emerging Applications, and Access. In this presentation, Dr. Hannah Wenger, and Dr. Nicholas Duca, compare the burden of obesity and related metabolic disease among American Indian and Alaska Native populations with the broader US population, explain the pharmacology and patient-centered outcomes of GLP-1 receptor agonists and dual GIP/GLP-1 agonists, describe the relevance of incretin-based therapies to substance use disorders and syndemic care and review medication access across public and private insurances as well as IHS and other federal health entities. CE will be available.
